Rachel websiteI began my yoga practice while I was in college at KU in 2009. Lawrence happened to have the only Bikram yoga studio in the entire state of Kansas and it was only 5 minutes away from my house! After my first class I was hooked. I had been a competitive swimmer for 10 years and had never found something that made me feel as good as swimming did. I didn’t begin a regular practice until 2010, but since then I have committed to practicing beginners class 5-7 times a week and advanced class 1-2 times a week. This yoga practice has completely transformed my body and my mind – I am generally happier, calmer, and I rarely get sick. I went to teacher training in Fall 2011 because I wanted to share the yoga and deepen my own practice. Teaching is such a gift – my students keep me inspired to practice, grow, and become a better yogi.
