Bikram Yoga is unique because it combines the meditation of Yoga with a cardiovascular workout. I have never done anything that made a more profound physiological change in my body. It feels like a bath for your entire internal physicality. In the practice you build strength and stretch, along with powers of concentration and focus. I have found it to not only be a wonderful stress release, but also an effective tool for coping with stress. It is a great cross training tool for a dancer, especially if the dancer needs extra cardiovascular conditioning, strength, balance, toning, or even concentration skills. I would also recommend it to anyone who has a high stress job and who is looking for a centering, transforming physical practice.
