My anxiety started to really hamper me in New York City circa 2010. I was just starting my first sales job and was new to the city, it was overwhelming. I would start my day with a 7-830am class at Bikram Yoga Union Square and then walk to work. The first few months of my sales job were punishing to my anxiety problems. My symptoms were difficulty breathing, tightness in my chest, and an overwhelming sense of dread at points. About 20 minutes into my bikram classes that would go away and then I would just focus on the work and getting into the postures. I'm certain that over the past 5 years I would not be where I am today without my 600+ bikram yoga classes. I still suck at the yoga but it helped me detox my mind and body and without it I would be toast.
